Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota

Noridian Administrative Services LLC (NAS) administers Medicare health insurance for Blue Cross Blue Shield of  North Dakota. If you are a provider located in the State of North Dakota and need to become an electronic submitter for your Blue Cross Blue Shield claims, please follow the enrollment instructions below. 

 

All providers must first register for Noridian’s Total Onboarding System in order to become an electronic submitter.

Once you have established your Total On Boarding Account, please log into your account.

  • On the first page, click the “Manage NPIs” button and choose your billing NPI.
  • Select the transaction types you want to enroll your Billing NPI for:
    • For Professional claims, click “Enroll” for 837P (5010A1)
    • For Institutional claims, click “Enroll” for 837I (5010A1)
    • To receive your EOBs electronically, click “Enroll” for 835 (5010A1)
    • Click “Finished” when done
  • Select Standard HIPAA Claim if asked about “Optional Claim Types”
  • Go back to the Home screen and make sure you select AXIOM Systems as your software vendor.
  • Click “View IVF Process” and follow the instructions to complete the IVF Process
    • The IVF Process involves getting a form notarized before you can be issued a digital certificate to test files and become an approved electronic submitter. If you have any questions regarding completing the IVF Process, please call Noridian’s helpdesk at 800-967-7902.

Once you complete the IVF Process you will be sent an email containing a Digital Certificate. The Digital Certificate is a file that will be attached to the email you receive. The file must be downloaded to your machine and double clicked on to install your Digital Certificate. You will also receive a password for the Digital Certificate via US Mail. You will not be able to successfully install your Digital Certificate without that password. If it has been over 2 weeks since you submitted your forms to Noridian and you still have not received your Digital Certificate email and Password via US Mail, please contact their helpdesk at 800-967-7902.

We can now process 276/277 requests (claim status). If this is a transaction you would like to utilize please make sure to enroll with the payer.

Testing

Once you have received your Digital Certificate and Password from Noridian, please call the SolAce Support Team and set an appointment for a Mailbox setup and Test Transmission.

Please have 10 test claims ready for testing. Test files should consist of a variety of claims that represent the type of claims you will be submitting once production status is achieved. Test claims will not be processed for payment but will be validated against production files; therefore, they must contain valid patient procedure, diagnosis, and provider information.
